Main Sights Along the Route

Austerlitz Battlefield (Slavkovské bojiště)

  • Cairn of Peace (Mohyla míru) – A monumental memorial on Prace Hill dedicated to the soldiers who died in the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805, with a small museum and panoramic views of the battlefield.
  • Prace Hill and surrounding battlefield sites – The key strategic positions where Napoleon’s army defeated the Russian and Austrian forces.

Slavkov u Brna (Austerlitz)

  • Slavkov Castle (Austerlitz Castle) – A Baroque château where the armistice after the Battle of Austerlitz was signed; today it houses exhibitions about the battle and the history of the town.
  • Historic Town Square and Town Hall – A pleasant Renaissance-style square with historic buildings and cafés.

Kroměříž (UNESCO Site)

  • Flower Garden (Květná zahrada) – A geometrically designed Baroque garden with colonnades, fountains and flower beds, considered one of the finest in Europe.
  • Podzámecká Garden – A large landscaped park surrounding the palace, ideal for relaxing walks.

Olomouc

  • Holy Trinity Column (UNESCO) – A huge Baroque monument in the Upper Square, built in the 18th century and decorated with statues of saints and biblical figures.
  • St. Wenceslas Cathedral – A Gothic cathedral with the tallest church tower in Moravia and the seat of the Olomouc archbishop.
  • Town Hall and Astronomical Clock – A historic town hall with a unique astronomical clock reflecting the city’s medieval heritage.
  • Upper and Lower Squares – Beautiful historic squares with fountains, churches and old townhouses.
